At Acorns we believe in developing our staff through continual professional development and have invested heavily in providing training to our staff.  We have an excellent retention rate of staff and many have over 10 years service with us, some have over 20 years.

CSSIW require nursery staff to have Level 2/Level 3 in Childcare Learning and Development, Leadership and Management (CCLD), but at Acorns all of our staff have Level 3 in CCLD (or equivalent degree) and 66 of our nursery staff have achieved or are working towards the highest level, Level 5 in Childcare Learning and Development, Leadership and Management (CCLD).

This puts us in a unique position having so many highly qualified dedicated staff and means that we can offer the very best in care for your children.

As well as proving training in childcare qualifications, staff attend training courses such as Food Hygiene, Paediatric First Aid, Makaton, Child Protection, Language and Literacy, Behaviour Management and Forest School.  This brings a variety of additional skills to enhance your child’s experience at Acorns.
