Please feel free to come and visit our nurseries at your convenience. We look forward to meeting you and your family and helping you transition through your child’s journey with Acorns

Parental Visits

We recognise that choosing a nursery for your child will be one of the most important decisions you will have to make.

We recommend you visit a number of nurseries at your convenience, as you will be surprised how you will have a feeling of what is right for you and your family. When considering a nursery, it is important to visit and meet the staff who will care for your child.

At Acorns, our open-door policy ensures you are free to visit any of our nurseries at any time during the nursery day. At the visit you will be able to see Acorns nursery life in action and the Nursery Manager will be able to answer any questions you may have.

Registering your child

To book a place in one of our nurseries or to register your child on our waiting list, please contact our Placement Co-ordinator at Acorns Head Office on 02920 382 009. We are fortunate that there exists significant demand for places at Acorns, therefore it is advised you contact us to confirm the place as soon as possible.

Upon allocation of your nursery place, you will be required to pay the holding fee of £100 per day you require. Upon receipt of the holding fee your place is guaranteed.

Should you decide to reduce your days either before your child’s start date or at any time after you have taken the nursery place, we require 8 weeks written notice.

Holding fees are refundable when your child leaves the nursery providing your account balance is up to date, and 8 weeks written notice is given. Should you not take up the nursery place, the holding fee is non-refundable.

Settling In Sessions

Our stay and play sessions are really important and benefit both the family and the nursery. We encourage you to visit the nursery for short sessions prior to your start date. Every child and parent are unique, therefore, we recognise that some may need more time than others to get used to their new surroundings.

On your first visit, we ask that you stay with your child and meet the staff whilst familiarising yourself with the nursery. Thereafter, we recommend your child is left with the key carers for a short period of time at different times of the day to experience nursery life.

An individual routine is planned in conjunction with parents’ wishes for our babies under 12 months and we work in partnership with parents to ensure the transition from home to nursery is as smooth as possible for both baby and parents.
