Letter to Parents

Dear Parents

Following on from the recent Welsh Government announcement on Friday 8th May 2020, we would like to update parents regarding our current position.

As you are aware, the lockdown in Wales has been extended for a further 3 weeks and, to date, we have not received any further guidance or clarification as to how or when any restrictions will be lifted, although it is anticipated that the details for Wales’ road map for easing out of lockdown will be released later this week. Therefore, we currently do not have a date for reopening for the nurseries. We will, of course, contact you at the earliest opportunity when we are in a position to do so.

We are facing quite different guidance in England where central government has published ‘Our plan to rebuild: The UK Government’s COVID-19 recovery strategy’ which has provided us with a guide as to when our nurseries in Bristol may be able to reopen. We therefore, might be in the position where the nurseries in Bristol reopen before the nurseries in Wales.

Please be assured that we are working behind the scenes and look forward to receiving further guidance from Welsh Government to move forward with the necessary and careful planning for the reopening of the nurseries. As always, the safety and well being of our children, staff and parents will be of paramount importance and we will inform you of all the measures in place ready for the reopening closer to the time.

We urge you all to follow our Facebook page (@AcornsNurseries) and Twitter feed (@acornsnurseries) where we will post any updates as and when they become available. We look forward to welcoming you back to the nurseries and wish you and your families good health.

Yours sincerely

Peter & Cherie
