The Curiosity Approach

Many of our nurseries are introducing the Curiosity Approach into daily play. The Curiosity Approach encourages the creation of natural environments, using calming pastel colours and open-ended everyday objects, such as pots, pans, wooden spoons, magnifying glasses and objects that inspire imagination.

This approach encourages the use of authentic resources, recycled materials and loose parts, allowing children to be responsible learners who experience sustained levels of thinking, problem solving and imagination.

Henbury Hill Acorns have an ‘Awe and Wonder Wall’. This gives children the opportunity to study real photos of places and the natural wonders of the world. This encourages the children to ask questions, discuss, describe and inspires their curiosity of the world we live in.
