Harvesting Potatoes

The children at BBC Acorns were delighted to be digging up the potatoes they planted months ago.

At Acorns we believe that teaching children about food and nutrition is an important life skill and forms an exciting learning experience for our children.

Each nursery has a vegetable planter where the children sow seeds for peppers, courgettes, beans, potatoes, strawberries and more. The children enjoy learning about the life cycle of plants, from planting seeds to harvesting delicious fruit and vegetables. These are then used in cooking activities in nursery or in the tasty seasonal recipes our cooks create.
