Help – I need a nursery!  But what do I look for? How do I enrol my child?  What happens as they get older?

These are just a few of the questions we get asked by new mums and dads when they are ready to start thinking about childcare for their little one.    There are so many considerations to take into account – location, practicality, opening hours, affordability – at Acorns we try to make this process as simple and straightforward as possible for you.

Starting with our Placement Manager Becca, a friendly voice on the end of the phone to guide you through the process of choosing a nursery, registering your child, visiting the nurseries, arranging settling in and answering the many questions that new parents have.

When you visit our nurseries the Nursery Manager or Assistant will show you around, taking the time to get to know you and your little one whilst introducing you to the  nursery team and showing you just some of the exciting activities and adventures on offer each and every day.  Our open door policy ensures that you can visit at any time, no appointment is necessary and don’t be afraid to bring Grandma along too !

But what will your child do at nursery ?  The list is endless!

Whether indoors or outdoors every day is varied, different, and designed to make learning through play from babies right through to pre-schoolers a fantastic adventure! From spaghetti play to construction toys, from gloop to cooking, and from painting to parachute games no two days are ever the same and are always messy, busy and exciting!

What will they eat ? Our Nursery Cooks prepare delicious fresh, home-cooked meals on the premises each day.  Wherever possible they use fruit and vegetables grown in our own nursery gardens from seeds planted and tended by the children. Our menu’s are nutritionally balanced and healthy, offering children a chance to experience new textures and tastes with meals such as Chicken and Vegetable Biryani, Beef Stroganoff, Welsh Lamb Cawl as well as fish dishes, home-made soups and traditional favourites.  Babies enjoy simple fresh homemade pureed vegetables and we work with parents to ensure the transition from puree to mashed and finger foods is an easy process when the individual child is ready to move onto the next stage.
