What The Parents Say

"The nursery works so hard to provide a clean and welcoming environment. The standards are second to none. The activities are plentiful and varied and always have a personalised touch. The nursery staff go above and beyond to ensure every child's nursery experience is a long lasting happy memory".
"My children have been very happy at Acorns, the staff are very warm & friendly. They do a wide range of activities, they have great outdoor space for them to play in, a good range of food on the menu and it is always clean & warm. I have recommended the nursery on to friends and they have not been disappointed. My children both have a lovely circle of friends from nursery who they see outside of nursery even though one of them has left!"
"We needed a clean, safe and enjoyable environment for our children, that allowed us to meet our usual working hours and needs as well. As we knew this meant a full day for them, it really needed to be a reliable home from home, where they felt relaxed, made friends and where they would be well fed and cared for. Acorns have given us this and more, with SEN support and a great pre-school start before moving to the local primary school with lots of other Acorns friends."
"Thank you so much for the Mother's Day Tea Party you organised - it was an unexpected and welcome treat. It was an opportunity to chat to other mums and the staff and it was a real success. The children seemed to love it too. Thank you again - it was much appreciated."
"I chose Acorns because I immediately had a good feeling. There was a lovely atmosphere with good interaction between staff and children. The building was very clean and welcoming and everyone was very friendly"

Food

At Acorns we know the importance of healthy minds and healthy bodies and how vital it is for children to eat the right foods for growth and development.   We also know that if children eat well in their early years they go on to make healthy choices throughout their lives.

We believe  in providing home cooked, delicious meals every day and encourage the children to take a healthy interest in food.  Each nursery has a vegetable planter where the children sow seeds for peppers, courgettes, beans, potatoes, strawberries and more, these are then harvested and used by our Cooks in nursery meals.

Our Autumn/Winter and Spring/Summer menus and are always packed with new ideas and seasonal fruit and vegetables.  The children enjoy breakfast, a 2 course lunch, high tea and a 5 o’clock snack.  All of our nurseries hold Gold Healthy Eating Snack Awards.   For babies and little ones we provide a puree and mash menu to ensure your child is enjoying foods for the correct stage of their development, older children are encouraged to self serve at the table to allow independence.

Our Nursery Nurses sit with the children at each meal to encourage and assist them at mealtimes, this promotes good table manners and social skills.

Cooking activities are a popular part of nursery life, and the children love to take part in food tasting sessions.    We celebrate different cultures and festival at Acorns and enjoy learning about and discovering foods from all over the world.

Acorns Nurseries are now providers of the Childcare Offer in Wales for eligible working parents of 3-4 year olds. Parents can apply by contacting the local Family Information Service.
