Child Protection

Acorns is committed to the welfare and protection of all children in our care. We work in partnership with families and local authorities to protect children from harm by ensuring that concerns about their safety are properly investigated.

Nursery staff have a responsibility to use their professional judgement to act upon concerns which arise over the health or welfare of any child in their care, and this may, on some very rare occasions result in a referral to the Intake and Assessment Department at Social Services for advice.

The staff will be honest with parents about any action that they undertake, except in cases where this may affect the safety of the child concerned. Information regarding concerns about any child will remain confidential.
