The Nursery Team
Each of our nurseries is managed by an experienced Manager, Assistant and Team Leader. They are responsible for the day to day running of the nursery, and work closely with the Directors who oversee every aspect of the organisation.
We have a team of full and part-time Nursery Nurses caring for your children, ensuring sufficient cover for holidays, sickness and training.
This enables us to maintain the following ratios:
Babies Under 2 Years 1:3 Ratio
Children 2–3 Years 1: 4 Ratio
Children 3– 5 Years 1: 8 Ratio
Our full-time Early Years Teachers are peripatetic and provide teaching sessions for the pre-school children. Working in small groups in a dedicated classroom environment they use a variety of resources such as computers, number games, and writing skills. This helps to build confidence and prepare your child for a smooth transition to school. We also employ a part-time Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO) to assist individual children with additional needs.
The Nursery Cook is responsible for providing a healthy, nutritious balanced diet for the children. All dietary requirements are catered for in accordance with parent’s wishes. Full-time Housekeepers ensure that our nurseries maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene and we employ a maintenance team of decorators, gardeners and handymen.
A Qualified Dance Teacher visits fortnightly to introduce the fun of music, movement and dance to the pre-school group. This encourages the children to understand the importance of being fit, active and healthy.
At Acorns we have fostered close relationships with local colleges and actively participate in the training of NVQ’s, Cache Diploma and BTec Students. These individuals are always supervised and are additional to staffing ratios.
